In the future, this Department will continue developing both its literature and linguistics programs. British and American literature studies will be the core of the literature program, with theories and feminist studies as its research concentration. The linguistics program, on the other hand, will focus on linguistic theories and applied linguistics, with corpus studies, cognitive linguistics, bilingual studies, and reading and ESP studies as its research concentration. The two programs will alternatively organize international conferences and publish books in series. Moreover, the journal, Fiction and Drama, will be developed into an international journal. To accommodate the university-wide "Top 100 University Advancement" project, this Department will double its efforts to promote itself in both domestic and international arenas.
